Joshua 4:24 "He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God."
A New Year, a fresh start, an opportunity to look at the future through a new lens! This is an exciting time for Israel as they were getting close to the goal of their journey towards reaching their promised land. They had just obeyed the words of the Lord through Joshua; "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you." They set out and experienced a miracle as the Lord allowed them to experience what their ancestors did in the Red Sea, God did with them in the Jordan. The land dried up for them and God told them to set out a memorial stone so they would never forget what He did for them. God demonstrated his power through them as they obeyed His word.
I believe God is getting us ready to enter our promised land. This verse is just a reminder of the importance of preparing ourselves or, "consecrate ourselves," so that we can see his provision. As many have regressed during this COVID pandemic, it is important that the church press forward. God is getting ready to demonstrate his power through us, if we just take the right steps so he can do his work.
What must you consecrate to the Lord this year? What must you give to him so that you can reach your promised land? Today, make sure to look within yourself and give Him what he has been wanting from you. If you do, He will demonstrate his Glory, so that others can believe and follow as well. Let 2022, be the year of demonstration!
Prayer: God today as I sit here meditating on your word, I desire to see you demonstrate your power through my life. I give to you all that you have been wanting from me. My time, my treasures, and my gifting's are all yours. May you use me to the capacity that you have desired, and may others see your glory through me as I obey your command for my life. Amen
