Matthew 1:19-20 "Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
"

What do you do when things don't go as planned? How do you react? To Joseph, his wedding plans have been interrupted and we can all see that he isn't a happy camper. But what happens when it's God that is interrupting them? Although Joseph had already made plans to leave Mary once the baby was born, he was sensitive enough to still hear from the Lord, and know that this interruption is not a bad thing but a good thing!

Can you be sensitive enough to hear from the Lord even when things don't go your way? This story says a lot about Joseph's humble character, and shows how he didn't allow pride to destroy his destiny.

As we take this time to meditate and pray, may we be open in our hearts to hear from the Lord, and may we be sensitive enough to know what God is doing, so that we stick to plan that he has for us and our future. Remember that just because its not the way you desire it to be, it doesn't mean it's a bad thing. "For his ways are better than our ways." (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Prayer: "Father God, may we take this time to push pride to the side, and be open to your leading. May we learn to understand that your way doesn't have to make sense, as long as it leads us to your will and your way. Help us to stick to the plan that you have set out for us because at the end it will bring you glory. Thank you Lord!  Amen."
