One of the biggest challenges in life is staying the course. The reason for this is because we can be so used to getting things fast. For instance, we have microwaves, high-speed internet and things are right at our fingertips. This is why many people move from place to place because they are looking for the fast rewards.

Can this all be because we live in a fast-paced world, or could it be that we are just being lazy? Have you ever heard the saying, “Good things come to those who wait?” There is a blessing with consistency that helps us when we build our own foundations.  As we discipline ourselves through constant prayer, or constant work ethics, it not only builds our muscles now but even for later. Living a disciplined life is important so that we can reap the rewards when those dry seasons come. The greatest wise man who ever lived said these words, “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” (Proverbs 10:4) Something happens when we become diligent in the things we do. To be diligent is to be constant, to stay the course. Although we don’t see the results today, we will see the results later, especially when it matters most.

Another way to being constant is by listening to the wise people that God has put in our lives. Whether it’s a word of correction or being disciplined by a loved one. All these are good lessons to helping us live constant and become stronger ourselves.  “whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray” (Proverbs 10:17) So be encouraged today! If you are not getting the answer you wanted today, keep praying. If you still have questions about what to do next, keep searching Gods Word. Stay the course, and while you follow Gods compass called Truth, He will then direct you to the promised land you have been pursuing.  Hear the Spirit today as He whispers your name and tells you “stay constant.”

Prayer: Lord, so many times we can lose focus because we want things now. Help us Lord and give us the strength to never give up and to stay the course with our faith and prayer. Especially when we are waiting on you to give us the answers. Amen.
