We have entered a new year and a new month; therefore, we still have the opportunity for a fresh new start.

When we are in a “rut”, what does this mean?

It means that we are in a settled or established habit or course of action; especially a dull, repetitive, motionless, and unproductive one.

Psalm 51:10 says, create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me.

As we proceed and move forward, we have an opportunity to leave behind those very things that keep us stuck, down, discouraged or distressed.

We know that life can be hard and the road we journey can be bumpy, as a result, those life events can have an impact and influence in our hearts. I encourage you to take some time to pause and reflect and ask the Lord to examine and clean your heart.

Take some time to be in quietness, in stillness; away from distractions and daily habits to come before the Lord. Surrender and talk with him about the very things you want to leave behind, that have been harmful and disruptive in your life.

Give it all, even if you feel like you may not have anything to offer. Make room for the good Lord to do his very best in your life.

Lastly, I want to share and leave you with Hebrews chapter 10 verses 19-23:

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

I pray that you would arise from the rut and move forward into a fresh new start. For He is indeed faithful!
