Matthew 5:6 AMP

Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.

One of the (many) things I have learned from my pastor, is to circle, underline or highlight words that stand out to me when I am reading or studying His Word or to read the definition of some of these words. And during this time of fasting, I will encourage each of you to join me and do exactly that with this verse. Highlighting words like blessed, hunger (defined as a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by the lack of food coupled with the desire to eat (noun) or having a strong desire or craving for (verb), righteousness and satisfied can be the stepping ground you (and I) need to give us strength each day. It will not be easy.... but it will be possible! We will realize that if we fully submit, seek and search for Him, only then will we truly be satisfied; only then can we be filled completely!

Are you hungry for the Lord?

Are you willing to empty yourself so that you can be filled completely of Him?

Today Lord, I lift each of us up in prayer and ask that during this time of fasting (and beyond) we only be hungry for You! I ask for a strong desire and craving for Your Word to overflow within us and that we be emptied of anything that is not of You! Fill us completely of You; Your will and Your ways! Amen!
