Leave It

Matthew 4:19-20 “Jesus called out to then, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” and they left their nets at once and followed him.”

 

 

Life is a journey! What I find to be interesting is that many people have not understood that following Jesus is a journey as well. This experience with Jesus can be an adventure and costly, it can also be one of uncertainty but at the end of the day will lead you towards your God given destiny. 

 

This journey cost Peter and his brother Andrew. The bible states that they left their boats and their net. James and John also left their boats, nets, and even their own father to follow Jesus. These men made a decision that not only would impact their life, but was the beginning to how they would one day be world changers. What they left behind was there transportation, covering, relationships, money, tools, etc. This is exactly what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. 

 

Are you willing to follow him on this journey? Do you hear him calling you? What will your response be today? What will you leave behind so you can live the greatest adventure ever for your life?

Prayer: "God my prayer today is that you will give us the understanding of what it is we need to leave behind as we choose to follow you on this adventure. Teach us what it means to live a Spirit-Empowered Life, and show us what it is we need to let go so we can grab on to the destiny you have for us. Amen!"
