“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:37

I was listening to the radio on my way back from church and they were replaying a small piece of a podcast. The person was saying, “God loves you the way you are, you don’t need to change.” It occurred to me that although the church knows that Bible says this and grew up hearing, “come as you are,” it’s still being repeated because knowing/hearing is one thing but we as a church don’t seem to understand what that actually means. Jesus Himself here in the gospel of John says that we are given to Him by the Father, a.k.a. God Himself. Meaning, we found our way to Christ because God arranged everything so that we would find Jesus and with Jesus the salvation of our souls. God, the maker of heaven and earth, judge over all things, looked down and picked you ON PURPOSE to be the next lucky winner of that day’s salvation. And if that weren’t enough, get this, Jesus says that once the Father gives you to Him He will NEVER drive you away! I mean, if that’s not worth shouting a Halleluiah over I don’t know what is. Committed adultery? He will never drive you away. Lied? He will never drive you away. Killed someone? He will never drive you away. Stole? He will never drive you away. But, but, but… you don’t know what I’ve done! He will never drive you away.

So my dear friend reading this today. You are reading this because God wants to remind you that you were hand picked by Him to have salvation in Jesus and no matter what you’ve done or will do, come back to Him because He will never drive you away.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for seeing things in me I don’t even see. Thank you for choosing me when no one else would. Thank you for allowing me to have salvation and redemption through your Son. Help me understand the love You have for me. Help me see myself as You do. In Your holy name. Amen
