2021 FAST
Psalm 30
"I will exalt your Lord, for you lifted Me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me, You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit."
I want to personally welcome you today and also thank you for joining us in our 21 day fast. We at U-Turn are in a spirit of expectancy for this new year. We believe this is going to be a year of Resurgence. A year of coming back to life, and when there is life the ability to create is inevitable. God is going to anoint us to create some of the greatest things this year.
Our Vision at U-Turn is, "Connecting to God, Creating Disciples that Care for the world." When we connect to God, a ripple affect happens and not only life happens but also purpose for that life.
David is exalting the Lord because he was saved by God from his own enemies. He shows us in this verse the process of this salvation for his own life. He says "I called to you for help, and you healed me." Connecting begins with us crying out, and the Lord is waiting on us to acknowledge him as God and savior. He is eager to help us and then shows us our purpose. Now, David is excited that he was spared and given life again, and a resurgence of praise and worship has erupted out of the depths of his soul.
Allow these next 21 days, to be a time that we not only cry out to God, but a time where He lifts us out of whatever we may find ourselves in and begin to allow His creating power make us to be the true disciples that he desires so that we can now walk in His purpose and care for the world, as He too loves the world, and wants to bring revival unto our land.
The following will be our schedule for our 21 day fast by week, and the focus of our prayer during these days. Please feel free to follow this and join our daily devotions written by other leaders at U-Turn Covenant.
Week 1: January 11th-17th- Liquid Fast only from 6am-6pm. (water preferably). We will be focusing on repentance and asking God to give us wisdom through his Holy Spirit for our lives
Week 2: January 18- 24th- 1 meal a day Fast. (you are open to choose when you will eat, but only once that day) We will be focusing on praying over our Government and the Leadership of the Church, and all leaders. Pray that they learn to have a heart after God and that they will learn to discern the times, and hear what God is leading them to do. Pray for them to have a sensitive spirit for the things of God and that a revival in them will happen too.
Week 3: January 25th- Feb 1st- Daniel Fast. We will be eating vegetables only, and if you want more info on the Daniel fast it is available online and on our FB page. We will be focusing on families of the church, and also the U-Turn Family and community. Praying to see the church open again at 100% and for a resurgence in the people to come to worship and be a part of our community and growth.
please stay tuned as we will be announcing special prayer times and weekly prayers, and a corporate worship night at the end of the month to end the fast together. We will give out more info on this soon.
"I pray that this will be a time of refreshing, that God will reset our lives as we re-connect to Him and a resurgence will begin in us to create stronger relationships with God, and he create in our hearts and forms us to be true disciples, with a purpose to care for others and the world."
