Psalms 10:17 "You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry"

There were two young brothers who were always mischievous at school. They were running into trouble daily in their lives. So the parents decided to take them to a private bible school to help with their character in hopes that they can learn good morals and to be kind. One morning during school the kids where acting up again and were taken to the principles office. As the kids sat in their chairs while speaking to the Principle, he began to say to them, "guys, where is God? I mean seriously where is he?"  At the hearing of these words both brothers got up from their seats and ran off. They were so terrified that they ran all the way home and hid in a closet together. As the mother heard their commotion she quickly opened the closet door and asked them, "what happened now?" The boys looked up to their mom and shouted, "God is gone missing, and they think we have something to do with it!"

Where is God?  The psalmist in this text you read is calling out to God asking Him, "where is He?" In times of trouble this seems to be the cry of our hearts. Has God hidden his face from us? Or is it possible that he is only silent waiting for us to notice so that we can cry out to him?

As we continue to read the text, we see a shift in his words when he says. "you, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted.." That's right! God hears our cry! So be encouraged!

In one particular scripture (Ex. 2:24-25) it says, "God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act."

Where is God?  He is on His throne! He is waiting to hear your soul cry! Your groaning's! Be encouraged church! God hears the depths of our groaning's and he acts!

Pray: "Lord today we are reminded that you are on your throne. We take this moment to cry out to you and share with you our deepest desires! God have your way in us! Remember your covenant with your children! Amen! "
